The news is out, that the long-awaited movie Legion is almost ready for release. Due out in theaters on January 22, 2010, it promises to be a bone-chilling supernatural thriller that has never been made before. It is filled with everything that anyone imagines that the biblical apocalypse in the dark recesses of their mind when they envision the apocalypse.

The utterly frightening script is very ably written by Peter Schink, and is completely innovative in its exposition of what the apocalypse may hold for future human beings. The unreservedly meticulous casting of this film will prove to be one of the reasons why it will be heralded as one of the best of the 2010 season.

Directed by Scott Stewart this supernatural thriller stars Paul Bettany, who has fallen down from the heavens, as the Archangel Michael, to put a stop mankind’s extinction as well the total annihilation of the world. The movie also stars.Dennis Quaid, Tyrese Gibson, Charles Dutton, and Lucas Black. It is in this extremely remote truck stop, where the action begins, with one waitress in their diner, played by Adrianne Palicki, that we discover that she is expecting, and she is carrying the new messiah.

In Legion online, we learn the reason for God’s wrath is that He has lost faith in mankind, and thus will unleash his angels to perform total annihilation of humans as well as the world they live upon. The Archangel Michael explains it thusly: “The last time God lost faith in man, he sent a flood, this time he sent angels!”

In anticipation of Legion the producers saw fit to introduce a game to make the interest rise, and you can play it online if you so desire. The game is set up using the set of Legion where you take on the form of the fallen angel, Michael, who finds himself in charge of finding the waitress working within the diner with the purpose of saving both she and the unborn child, for he will act as the messiah. Your job as Michael is to find each cache of the weapons that are strewn about the premises as well as the ammunition. Your work must be consummated as you fight off demons, which unfortunately are now in human form, in order to protect the messiah. Failing the mission means that the earth will be decimated and there will be total annihilation of all humanity. In the game, if you should fail, you will have to listen to the incredible screams of Michael the Archangel as he is eliminated, as you have let down the entire world.
